Oslo, 22 July 2026: BDO, one of Norway's leading advisory and audit firms, has selected Strise as its technology provider for customer due diligence and anti-money laundering (AML). The agreement makes Strise's AI platform a central part of how BDO meets its anti-money laundering obligations.

With this, BDO joins the ranks of leading audit and advisory firms adopting Strise to streamline their AML compliance work. Strise already provides similar solutions to several of the largest players in the industry.

Tougher requirements from the EU

The audit and advisory industry is subject to strict requirements for ongoing customer monitoring under anti-money laundering legislation. This work has traditionally been manual and time-consuming, involving the collection of ownership data, risk assessments and documentation across a wide range of sources. Strise brings this together in a single, AI-powered platform where much of the process is automated.

The need is being reinforced further by developments at the European level. The EU's new Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR) takes effect on 10 July 2027, introducing a single, harmonised European framework, the so-called "single rulebook", with more detailed requirements for ongoing customer due diligence and the mapping of beneficial owners.

This means expectations of even greater precision and traceability in compliance work. Technology that automates and streamlines customer due diligence therefore becomes an important success factor for many regulated industries.

Everything on one platform

With Strise, BDO gains an end-to-end solution that automates much of the customer due diligence process. The platform gathers and connects company and ownership data in real time using AI, and makes it possible to configure risk scoring directly against BDO's own risk models.

Digital customer forms simplify onboarding for clients, while integrated ID verification and automated screening against sanctions and PEP lists ensure regulatory requirements are met. In addition, Strise's new module for ongoing due diligence continuously monitors the risk picture around both clients and the networks behind them.

"Customer due diligence and compliance are core tasks for us, but also an area where manual work ties up a great deal of time."
Anne Reisch Bruset, Head of KYC, BDO
"With Strise, AI can take on much of the time-consuming routine work in customer due diligence. The system gathers, connects and structures the data, gives us valuable insight into our client assessments, and continuously alerts us when something needs attention. That frees our advisors to apply their expertise where it truly matters."

A strategically important agreement for Strise

The partnership underpins Strise's strong momentum in the enterprise market and marks another important step toward modernising the compliance infrastructure for the largest players in Europe.

"We are very proud to become BDO's strategic partner. With our AI technology, we will help them navigate new regulations and ensure they are as well prepared as possible for the future. That one of the country's most respected professional communities places its trust in us shows that AI is essential to keeping pace going forward."
Marit Rødevand, CEO, Strise

Strise delivers an end-to-end AI platform for KYB, KYC and anti-money laundering, available as an application, via API, and as an agentic "AI workforce" that can carry out parts of the compliance work.

FAQ

Why did BDO choose Strise for AML compliance?

BDO selected Strise as its technology provider for customer due diligence and AML because manual compliance work tied up significant advisor time. Strise's AI platform gathers, connects, and structures company and ownership data automatically, alerts BDO when something needs attention, and frees advisors to apply their expertise where it matters. The agreement, announced 22 July 2026, makes Strise a central part of how BDO meets its anti-money laundering obligations.

What does the EU's AMLR mean for audit and advisory firms?

The EU's Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR) takes effect on 10 July 2027 and introduces a single harmonised rulebook across Europe, with more detailed requirements for ongoing customer due diligence and the mapping of beneficial owners. For audit and advisory firms, that means greater precision and traceability in compliance work, and it makes technology that automates customer due diligence a success factor rather than a nice-to-have.

What will BDO use the Strise platform for?

BDO gets an end-to-end platform for customer due diligence: company and ownership data gathered and connected in real time, risk scoring configured against BDO's own risk models, digital customer forms for onboarding, integrated ID verification, and automated screening against sanctions and PEP lists. Strise's ongoing due diligence module also monitors the risk picture around clients and the networks behind them continuously.

Who else uses Strise in the audit and advisory industry?

Strise already provides AML and customer due diligence technology to several of the largest players in the audit and advisory industry, including PwC Norway. With the BDO agreement, Strise strengthens its position as the compliance platform for leading professional services firms in the Nordics and Europe.
